Kolkata: On Monday, a man filed a police complaint in Kolkata, accusing his 14-year-old daughter and her boyfriend of murdering her mother, who had objected to their relationship.

The police have launched an investigation into the case, and both minors will be presented before the Juvenile Justice Board on Tuesday.

A middle-aged man, whose wife was found strangled last month, alleged that his daughter and her boyfriend were responsible for her death, according to a police officer.

"Today, a person filed a complaint at Thakurpukur police station, stating that on the night of June 6, while he and his wife were asleep, his daughter's male friend, also a minor, sneaked into their house and into their room. The boy then strangled the man's wife and threatened to kill him if he reported it to the police," inform the officer

The minors had met through social media a year and a half ago. The girl's family disapproved of their relationship and frequently reprimanded her about it. "We have initiated a case under the Juvenile Act, and both minors will be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board on Tuesday," added the police officer.
